$49M SUPP Round 6 announced

Seventeen projects will provide underground power to about 18,000 properties across eight local government areas in the Perth metropolitan area under Round Six of the State Underground Power Program.

Energy Minister Mike Nahan said almost 60 per cent of houses in the Perth metropolitan area now had underground power, with more than 1,000 kilometres of mostly residential streets having been undergrounded over the life of the State Underground Power Program.

“The State Government has committed $49 million for about 18,000 properties to benefit from underground power in this round. The projects, which will start in 2017, are expected to be completed by the end of 2021.”
