The Housing Authority is seeking contractors with suitable capability and experience to deliver its Remote Essential and Municipal Services (REMS) Program to Aboriginal communities across Western Australia.
Housing is responsible, on behalf of the State Government, for funding the delivery of the following services to approximately 165 remote Aboriginal communities across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Mid-West, Goldfields and Ngaanyatjarra Regions of Western Australia:
• Power, water and waste water services – periodic, preventative and emergency breakdown maintenance, and water quality management.
• Provision of power house fuel and oils and management of a consumer metering system.
• Municipal services – typical local government services including rubbish collection and landfill management, road and drainage maintenance, fire management for community and key assets, landscaping and dust control, maintenance of playgrounds, ovals, cemetery and other public areas, and maintenance of the aerodrome.
At this stage, it is anticipated that multiple year contracts for the delivery of REMS will be in place from approximately 1 October 2017.
A detailed formal public Request for Tender(s) will be advertised on Tenders WA in late June 2017.
