Mr Hovey was presented with the President’s Award by CCF WA President David Della Bona and CCF WA Chief Executive Officer Jeff Miller at a gala dinner on Friday night.

Mr Miller said Mr Hovey was a most worthy recipient of the prestigious award.

“I don’t know anyone who cares more deeply about the future of our industry, about ensuring a fair go for contractors, reducing red tape and making government accountable,” Mr Miller said.

“He’s been an active CCF WA member for many years, always making a valuable contribution to our advocacy, and always supporting our events.

“It’s fair to say our strong membership in the South West is in large part due to John’s leadership in that region.”

Mr Hovey is a director of the Australind-based Hovey Group of companies, which includes J.A.K Civil, Australind Premix and MJB Industries. His companies have been CCF WA members for many years, and he has served on the CCF WA Board for more than 10 years.

Mr Hovey is also on the board of the Master Builders Association South West. He is a long-time member of Rotary and takes part in an annual rally to raise funds for Camp Quality.
