Lavan’s Employment and Safety partner Charmaine Tsang is the recipient of the inaugural Asian Australian Lawyers Association WA Chapter’s Partner of the Year Award.
The award recognises Charmaine’s outstanding contribution to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and active involvement in working towards achieving the objectives of the AALA.
In presenting Charmaine with the award at the inaugural Lunar New Year dinner last week, the Hon. John Quigley MLA said: “Charmaine has been a partner in the Employment and Safety team at Lavan since October 2014 and is a highly experienced adviser on workplace and industrial relations matters. She provides court and tribunal representation and is a trained mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System.
“In addition to the above, Charmaine is also the current president of the Women Lawyers of Western Australia Association. She is a source of inspiration for many lawyers, an extraordinary role model and a mentor to women in the law.”
President of the AALA WA Chapter Peter Le said: “Charmaine has been recognised for her significant contribution towards promoting cultural diversity in the legal profession, being only one of a few Asian partners at a medium to large sized law firm in Western Australia. She is a great role model for our members.”
